Judge Daniel M. Reynolds Biography

 The Honorable Daniel M. Reynolds was elected District Judge in 2022. Judge Reynolds serves both Montgomery County and Chautauqua County as 14th Judicial District Judge, division 4.

Judge Reynolds graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas before receiving his Juris Doctorate from Washburn University School of Law.

Upon graduation from law school, Judge Reynolds engaged in the general practice of law for over a decade with the law firm Emert Chubb Reynolds LLC, becoming a partner in 2012. Judge Reynolds also served as the city prosecutor for the City of Independence, city attorney for the City of Cherryvale, and Guardian ad litem {GAL) for minor children in child in need of care cases in Montgomery County before elected as District Judge.

Judge Reynolds is actively involved in the community as past chairman of the board of the Independence Chamber of Commerce; past president of Optimist Club of Independence; and coaches youth sports sponsored by the Independence Recreation Commission.

Judge Reynolds is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, and past member of the City Attorney Association of Kansas.

Judge Reynolds resides in Independence with his wife, Molly (Brown) Reynolds, a dentist in Cherryvale. Together with his wife, Judge Reynolds has five boys: Rex, Henry, Charlie, Auggie and Teddy.
